UNCOVERING THE ROLES WE PLAY
An Experiential Training with Jay Stringer
Thursday, February 4, 2027 | 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Fellowship Bible Church | Brentwood, Tennessee
1210 Franklin Road Brentwood, TN
We all learn to play roles—the caretaker, the achiever, the peacemaker, the one who stays in control or keeps others at a distance.
But where did those roles come from? Why are they so difficult to give up? And who are we underneath them?
Join author and therapist Jay Stringer for a full-day experiential training exploring:
The roles we play → where they came from → why we resist giving them up → who we really are underneath them.
Drawing from his newest book, Desire: The Longings Inside of Us and the New Science of How We Love, Heal, and Grow, Jay will explore how our stories—including our sexual stories—can provide a powerful window into our longings, wounds, patterns, and the roles we have learned to play.
This training is designed for therapists at every stage—from interns and those just beginning their clinical work to seasoned therapists who have been in the field for decades.
Whether you're building your clinical framework or looking for fresh depth after years of practice, you'll leave with new ways of understanding the people you serve—and perhaps yourself as well.
Through teaching, personal reflection, and practical application, we'll explore what our protective roles are doing for us, what they may be protecting, and who we are underneath them.
